Today I'll be discussing what you can find on TikkiTalk and TikkiWeb.net.
TikkiTalk and TikkiWeb.net are the evolution of my old website and blog. They are a representaion of me, my thoughts, and the events in my life. I'll also include such items as tech tips, and other information that I find interesting. TikkiWeb.net contains pictures of my family and artwork. You'll also find interesting and fun content and web based games that I've compiled or created. You can visit my Cafe Press store from TikkiWeb.net, it's called TikkiWeb Schwag. Under the Tools and Tips section you can find useful info about building an Ethernet loopback connector, Repairing the image resizer in Windows XP, and fixing the ubiquitous Windows Shutdown problems. In the future you'll also be able to find blogs for my family and friends, which should prove interesting.
Some examples of the types of topics you'll find on TikkiWeb.net and TikkiTalk are the benefits of switching from the Windows default browser to Mozilla's Firefox. You'll also be able to share in my views on other topics such as Serenity - the movie based on Joss Whedon's Firefly.
In 2002 an amazing, and amazingly short-lived, series came to Fox television. Fox beat up, chopped, and spit out this wonderful show. However, the cast, crew, and fans wouldn't let the show die. This poor unassuming serial is called Firefly. If Star Trek (the original series) was considered a "wagon train in space", this new launch of a sci-fi western by Joss Whedon truly captured and remade the theme. Typically the cancellation of a series such as this, with only eleven (of fourteen) episodes aired, would mean the end, but it quite simply isn't. This fall, a movie named for the ship in Firefly, will be released. Serenity opens September 30th, 2005 in the United States...I'll be there. The screenplay should be available in paperback around the time of the film's release. Beg, borrow or buy a copy of the Firefly series, and get caught up on what you've missed so far. Once you're all caught up, check out the three part graphic novel covering the time between the series and the movie. If you're interested in what makes the characters tick, check out Finding Serenity : Anti-Heroes, Lost Shepherds and Space Hookers in Joss Whedon's Firefly. For ongoing information about the progress of Serenity/Firefly and the Browncoats (Firefly fans) check out The Signal. For more news about the "goings on" in the world of Whedon, check out the Week in Whedon. Finally, don't forget to cast a vote for Serenity at IMDb once the movie has been released, especially if you are a current member in good standing. Don't forget to check out the Firefly Fan site, Can't Stop The Signal!
